SmaartTools for iOS single channel RTA is an extensive audio spectrum analyzer derived from the single-channel component of Smaart 7 by Rational Acoustics.
For those in need of a two-channel FFT for their iOS devices, the Transfer Function module within our AudioTools app is worth exploring.
Developed by Studio Six Digital in collaboration with Rational Acoustics, Smaart Tools utilizes exclusive algorithms, techniques, and features existing in the Smaart® v.7 acoustic test and measurement software.
This integration brings the sophisticated analysis capabilities of Smaart® to the iPhone and iPod touch platforms.
The single-channel module encompasses several features from Smaart® v.7, including the RTA Bar graph, RTA Line graph, RTA Bar & FFT graph, and the Spectrograph. Additionally, on the iPhone and iPod touch, there is an extra graph - the Spectrograph with the RTA Line graph overlay.
All RTA banding options found in Smaart® v.7 are accessible, comprising log, lin, Octave, 1/3rd, 1/6th, 1/12th, 1/24th and 1/48th Octave modes.
Decay modes from Smaart® v.7 are also present, offering None, 1, 2, 4, 8, and 16 averages, custom decay settings from Smaart 1-10 seconds, as well as Infinite, Fast, and Slow options.
Users can zoom the frequency scale down to a single octave and the dB scale down to 1dB resolution. Double-tapping the screen resets to full frequency response and auto-scales the dB scale.
The Real-time Spectrograph history retains data for review; by swiping users can observe sound events that have moved off-screen.
Additional features include high-contrast mode, variable Spectrograph speed, vertical or horizontal running Spectrograph display, Difference mode, Peak Tracking, and FFT Windowing.
Standard AudioTools functionalities such as Save / Recall and the Generator Panel are integrated. All configurations are automatically saved for future sessions.
On iPad and larger iPhones, split graph mode supports simultaneous display of any two graphs on-screen. Check screenshots for compatibility with your device.
Smaart Tools RTA Spectrum provides reliable performance with the built-in iOS device microphone due to our proprietary microphone compensation and calibration database personalized for each iOS device. For enhanced professional outcomes, consider utilizing our iTestMic or iAudioInterface2 coupled with any test & measurement microphone.
